Helicopter View of Rome

Photographed & edited by Riccardo Vincenzi. Artist's recommendation: 28" x 40" (70cm x 100cm) printed on aluminum.

From this particular POV, half of the city is visible - an extremely rare sight and a rather tricky shot!

The city of Rome is defined by its 7 hills (Palantine, Capitoline, Quirinal, Esquiline, Caelian, & Avantine) as well as the Tibur River. Legend has it that Romulus originally began rome on Palantine Hill. During its 1000+ year history, Rome had three major periods: as a kingdom, a republic, and an empire. At the height of the Roman Empire, it had a population of 50-90 million people - some estimate this to be 20% of the world's population at the time!

The modern city of Rome still hosts grandiose vestiges of ancient Rome - the Colosseum, Vatican, and many other ruins are available to view and explore. Visitors say that Rome is a world unto its own.
